All hail the dominant force in fantasy football in 2007.  Love him or hate him, if you owned him, you probably made the fantasy playoffs.

The NFLFreaks are feeling a little smug right now, as our staff lit up in a bunch of their leagues in 2007.  We hope you had similar success.

With our 10th season in the rearview mirror, we thank all of our loyal Freaks for their record-setting support and patronage this season.

So stay with us, the Freaks are going to keep it going strong during the dark months of the off-season.

Deuce McAllister (RB - New Orleans)

 07/05/08

McAllister went down with season-ending knee injury last season. McAllister tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Week 3 against Tennessee. In addition to the left ACL repair, he also underwent microfacture surgery on his right knee to repair cartilage from a previous injury.

Fantasy Impact:

McAllister said he has been able to stay in good shape, but he admitted that his conditioning isn't quite up to "football strength" just yet. That only comes with the rigors of daily practices. A healthy McAllister will cut in the Reggie Bush's playing time but many have questioned Bush's ability to be an every down back.

Frank Gore (RB - San Francisco)

07/05/08

Mike Martz said running back Frank Gore was quick on the playing field and even quicker in the classroom this spring. "He's a one-time guy. You tell him once, and he has it," the 49ers' offensive coordinator said of Gore, who is entering his fourth season. "That's really a remarkable quality. He really learns fast. He's a very sharp guy. So that means you can use him in a variety of ways."

Fantasy Impact:

Upon joining the 49ers, Martz said he would build his offense around Gore the way he once built the St. Louis Rams' offenses around Marshall Faulk. Martz also has been impressed with Michael Robinson, the biggest of the 49ers' three running backs, who also is adept as a pass catcher. Martz said he envisions scenarios in which Gore and Robinson are in the offensive backfield together.

Terry Glenn (WR - Dallas)

07/05/08

Glenn was barred from working out during off-season team activities and minicamp because he refused to sign an injury waiver to protect the team in case he reinjured his surgically repaired right knee. The Cowboys had threatened to cut him if he didn't sign the waiver, and a defiant Glenn asked for his release earlier this month.

Fantasy Impact:

Glenn was sidelined for the first 15 games last season after undergoing two arthroscopic surgeries on his right knee. The Cowboys kept him on the active roster, hoping he might be able to help them in the playoffs. Glenn played four plays and never made an impact. There are those in the organization who think Glenn’s return for the playoffs might have had a negative impact on his replacement, Patrick Crayton.

Joe Jurevicius (WR - Cleveland)

07/05/08

Jurevicius had his second knee surgery since January on Monday, a procedure that could prevent him from reporting to training camp on time. Jurevicius had swelling and discomfort in his knee related to his first operation, and the club said in a statement released today that he had a further "clean out" on Monday to help him recover. The team said no determination has been made on Jurevicius' status for training camp, which opens July 23.

Fantasy Impact:

Jurevicius is projected to be the Browns No.3 receiver, behind Braylon Edwards and Donte Stallworth. The Browns passing game was improved last year but beware of the slip back in 2008. Last year they faced the NFC West (Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle and St. Louis) who aren't exactly known for their passing defense. This year they face the NFC East (Dallas, NY Giants, Philadelphia and Washington) who always put pressure on the quarterback.
