Pre-season is here, and for the next few weeks your whole mission in life is to find an edge for your fantasy football draft. We give a lot of knowledge across this site, but these cheat sheets are the distilled essence of it all.

Hey, the freaks know that you shouldn't take someone's cheat sheet as the word of god. We know it's just an opinion, and that's why we give you five opinions from experienced and diverse viewpoints.

We rank on a straight performance scoring system, so you TD-only and TD-distance leaguers might want to take this with a grain of salt. For the rest, read on.

Sandman's Individual Cheat Sheets

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends | Kickers | Team Defenses

Rank Player Name Comments
1 Peyton Manning

The loss of Edgerrin James will force the Colts to throw the ball more.

2 Carson Palmer

The best fantasy quarterback last year but he is coming back from major knee surgery.

3 Jake Delhomme

A poor mans Peyton Manning.

4 Tom Brady

Showed that he can perform without a running game last year but Corey Dillon is healthy so he won't match last years numbers.

5 Matt Hasselbeck

After a so-so start, Hasselbeck finished strong.

6 Daunte Culpepper

Knee injury bothers me but early reports have him back week one.

7 Marc Bulger

Averaged more fantasy points per game than any other quarterback last year. Loss of Martz will hurt but he still has Holt and Bruce.

8 Eli Manning

Eli isn't Peyton but he has shown flashes of what he could be.

9 Drew Bledsoe

Had a solid year in 2005 and the addition of Terrell Owens only helps.

10 Trent Green

Performances are up and down but overall he is a solid quarterback.

11 Donovan McNabb

Loss of Terrell Owens hurts. Before Owens he was an average fantasy quarterback.

12 Kurt Warner

Still has a rocket arm and now he has a running game to help the offense.

13 Steve McNair

Together again with his favorite target, Derrick Mason, but his best days are behind him.

14 Jake Plummer

Offense is made for him and now he has Javon Walker.

15 Brett Favre

Father time has caught up with Favre but he will shine at times.

16 Aaron Brooks

Mr. Inconsistency.

17 Drew Brees

Brees' moved to an offense that has a terrible offensive line.

18 Byron Leftwich

Has improved every year and his growth continues.

19 Jon Kitna

Sleeper alert. Mike Martz is the offensive coordinator, receivers have talent and the last time he was a starter he threw for 3,591 yards and 26 touchdowns.

20 Chris Simms

Some have said that Simms has looked kike one of the best QB's during training camp.

21 Ben Roethlisberger

The Steelers are a running team so Big Ben will never be a fantasy starter.

22 Philip Rivers
23 Michael Vick
24 Mark Brunell
25 Billy Volek
26 Brad Johnson
27 Chad Pennington
28 Alex Smith
29 David Carr
30 Charlie Frye
31 Vince Young
32 J.P. Losman
33 Rex Grossman
34 Patrick Ramsey
35 Matt Leinart
36 Tony Romo
37 David Garrard
38 Kyle Boller
39 Jay Cutler
40 Joey Harrington
