Peyton Manning |
Due to
the loss of Edgerrin James the Colts will have to
air it out more in 2006 and Peyton Manning will be
the number one quarterback in fantasy football once
again. |
|
2 |
Matt Hasselbeck |
Matt
Hasselbeck was the 6th ranked quarterback in fantasy
last season and he did that without his number one
receiver Darrell Jackson who missed 10 games last
year. Not only does Jackson return but the Seahawks
traded for former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver
Nate Burleson. |
|
3 |
Drew Bledsoe |
Drew
Bledsoe threw a touchdown pass in all but one game
last season and he was the 5th rated quarterback in
fantasy. Now he has Terrell Owens to work with so I
expect Drew to be an elite quarterback. |
|
4 |
Tom
Brady |
Tom
Brady was the number two quarterback in fantasy last
year and he will continue to produce with the
addition of rookie WR Chad Jackson. |
|
5 |
Kurt Warner |
Kurt
Warner is a risk due to his injury history (he
missed 6 games in 2005) but he still passed for over
300 yards 5 times last season. He also has two
outstanding receivers to work with in Anquan Boldin
and Larry Fitzgerald. |
|
6 |
Eli
Manning |
Last
season Eli Manning scored only 20 less fantasy
points then his big brother and that was in his
first full season as a starter. Eli will only get
better and he has great weapons to work with in Tiki
Barber, Jeremy Shockey and Plaxico Burress. |
|
7 |
Jake Delhomme |
Jake
Delhomme was tied for 4th place in touchdown passes
in 2005 with 24. Steve Smith led the team in
touchdown receptions with 12 but the next leader on
the team was Ricky Proehl and he only caught four.
The addition of Keyshawn Johnson will greatly
improve Carolina’s number two receiver position
which is why Jake Delhomme will probably improve on
his 2005 numbers. |
|
8 |
Carson Palmer |
Carson
Palmer could be the number one quarterback in
fantasy but until I see him make it through training
camp I have concerns about that knee that was
injured against the Steelers only 7 months ago.
|
|
9 |
Donovan McNabb |
Donovan
was a stud fantasy quarterback prior to Terrell
Owens arriving in Philadelphia but Reggie Brown and
Greg Lewis are not two receivers that put fear in
defensive backs. Additionally, the NFC East is not a
cake walk like in years prior. Washington, Dallas
and the New York Giants are all getting better so I
can’t see McNabb putting up the numbers he did in
years prior. Update----McNabb has looked good in
preseason. |
|
10 |
Brett Favre |
This
might be Brett Favre’s last season and if it is he
will end his career slinging the ball all over the
football field. Favre had a horrible season last
year and he was still the 9th ranked fantasy
quarterback. |
|
11 |
Trent Green |
Trent
Green has no stud receiver but year after year he
manages to throw for over 4,000 yards. |
|
12 |
Daunte Culpepper |
Daunte
Culpepper could be a steal on draft day if he's
healthy. The Dolphins are up and coming and they
have more weapons on offense than Minnesota did when
Culpepper threw for 39 touchdowns. |
|
13 |
Marc Bulger |
Marc
Bulger has great weapons to work with but he has
never been able to stay healthy. Last season he only
played in 8 games and since Bulger took over for
Kurt Warner back in 2002 Bulger has never completed
a full season. |
|
14 |
Mark Brunell |
Mark
Brunell surprised the fantasy world with the stellar
play he had last season. In the off-season the
Washington Redskins added former 49ers receiver
Brandon Lloyd and former Steelers wide receiver
Antwaan Randle El to help Santana Moss. Brunell
should be able to repeat last season’ performance if
he can stay healthy and hold off the young Jason
Campbell. |
|
15 |
Jake Plummer |
Plummer
had solid stats last season finishing the season as
the 13th ranked quarterback in fantasy. A healthy
Javon Walker opposite the veteran Rod Smith makes
Jake a top 10 quarterback. |
|
16 |
Steve McNair |
Steve
McNair was brought into Baltimore to bring stability
to the quarterback position. McNair will do that and
he will be reunited with his former number one
receiver from back in Tennessee Derrick Mason.
McNair has always been fond of the tight end and he
has great one to wok with in Todd Heap. |
|
17 |
Aaron Brooks |
Aaron
Brooks was horrible last year tossing only 13
touchdown passes but he was without his number one
receiver Joe Horn for 3 games and Horn played
through injuries most of the season. Over the
previous 4 years Brooks threw at least 21 touchdowns
and passed for over 3,500 yards. This year he has
Randy Moss and Jerry Porter to work with. |
|
18 |
Michael Vick |
Vick
has never thrown for more then 16 touchdowns in a
season and he’s a big risk to get injured due to the
fact that he runs so much. |
|
19 |
Drew Brees |
Drew
Brees is coming off of a shoulder injury and he’s in
a new system. Brees no longer has Tomlinson and
Gates but he does have Reggie Bush, Deuce McAllister
and Joe Horn to work with. That said, he will miss
his stud tight end Antonio Gates. |
|
20 |
Ben
Roethlisberger |
Ben
made big noise with his motorcycle accident this
off-season but it appears that he will make a full
recovery. He’s thrown 17 touchdowns in both of his
two season in the NFL. When I think of passing
attacks that I want on my fantasy team the Steelers
don’t come to mind. |
