StingRay's Individual Cheat Sheets

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends | Kickers | Team Defenses

Rank Player Name Comments
1 Carolina Panthers

The Panthers defense gets after the quarterback and if the defensive line is healthy they will be the top defense in the league.

2 Chicago Bears

Under head coach Lovie Smith’s leadership the Bears defense was the number one defensive unit in the league last year. Their schedule will be a little tougher so that’s why they won’t be the number one defense in 2006.

3 Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks defense was the 8th ranked defense a pleasant last season and the addition of ex-49ers linebacker Julian Peterson can only make them better.

4 Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers defense under Dick LeBeau is a defense that attacks the quarterback and forces turnovers.

5 New York Giants

The Giants have added Lavar Arrington to their defnes to go along with stud defensive ends in Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora.

6 New England Patriots

The Patriots are the best coached team in the league and if Pro Bowl safety Rodney Harrison is completely healthy their defense will be as good as ever.

7 Philadelphia Eagles

The addition of Josh Howard has the Eagles defensive line looking very good. I think the Eagles defense is a great pick this year.

8 Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens defense still finished in the top 10 last year and defensive stars Ed Reed and Ray Lewis missed considerable time. The two are reportedly healthy which means the defense should be much better in 2006.

8 Indianapolis Colts

The Colts defense was number two in fantasy last season. However, I am not a big believer in their defense due to the fact they didn’t really play in great offenses when they were padding their stats. The Colts offense would give them a big lead so it was easy for the defense to force turnovers. I believe the offense will suffer without Edgerin James and so will the defense.

9 Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars depend on defense in order to win games and they have been a top 10 defense the past few seasons. Four games against divisional foes Texans and Titans will help their defensive numbers.

10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South last season and it was because of their defense which finished 5th in fantasy scoring last year. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have averaged out as the number 3 fantasy defense over the past 3 seasons.

11 Denver Broncos
12 Miami Dolphins
13 Washington Redskins
15 Dallas Cowboys
16 Kansas City Chiefs
17 Atlanta Falcons
