The
Sandman - Craig Hentrich
As I watched Joe Nedney mouth to a
friend in the stands that he thinks he has an MCL injury in his left
knee, I thought the Titans were done. This was going to be a close
game that the kickers would decide and with Nedney out, the Titans would
lose.
With no other kicker on their roster
they had to turn to their punter, Craig Hentrich. Not only was Hentrich
able to get the ball off the turf but he kicked field goals from 33, 34
and most amazingly, 49 yards. This put him in the record book with
Nedney as the only two kickers on the same team to kick field goals from
greater than 40 yards in one game.

StingRay
- Buffalo Bills Defense
What a debut by the new and improved
Buffalo Bills defense on Sunday as they shut out the Patriots 31-0. Last
year in two games against the Patriots Tom Brady threw 5 touchdowns and
no interceptions against the Bills defense in two lopsided New England
victories. New England beat Buffalo 38-7 and 27-17 last year but Sunday
was a different story.
The Bills defense was swarming and
they sacked Brady twice and and picked him off 4 times with one being
returned for a touchdown by the newly acquired Sam Adams. That was
the play of the day. I couldn't help but smile watching this 300+
pound lineman return an interception and high step into the end zone.
Look at what the newcomers did for the
Bills defense. Takoe Spikes had 2 interceptions, Lawyer Milloy had a
sack, and Sam Adams had the interception for a touchdown. If the
Bills are still available in your league you might want to pick them up.

Crunch
Time - Joey Harrington
Harrington came out blazing in week
one to lead all NFL quarterbacks with 4 touchdowns. After a great
showing in the second half of last year, Harrington showed that it was
no fluke as he spread the ball out to his various receivers, most
notably the rookie Charles Rogers.
While the defense may have been that
of Arizona, it is still impressive to see anyone slinging the ball with
that much success in the red zone.

Smokin'
Joe - Anquan Boldin
Who? Anquan Boldin set the NFL
record for the most yards by a rookie receiver in his first NFL game
with 10 catches for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns. Anquan did not
hear his name very much in fantasy drafts around the league this fall,
but I'll bet he receives some waiver wire love this week.
