Freak
of the Week - Week 10

StingRay - Daunte
Culpepper
Daunte Culpepper has not been himself
without Randy Moss in the lineup. He had only thrown 3 touchdowns
in his last three games after throwing 10 touchdowns in weeks 5 & 6
alone.
On Sunday Culpepper may have played his
best game of the season against the Green Bay Packers. Daunte totaled
382 yards of offense and threw 4 touchdowns with no interceptions.
This game was a big confidence booster
for Culpepper owners. Moss should return in the next week or two so
those of you who have him should be confident that Culpepper will finish
the season strong.

CrunchTime -
Brandon Stokley
Sometimes it’s tough being the third
receiver in Indy. Wayne and Harrison are perched in the upper echelon of
fantasy receivers leaving Stokely to play out of the limelight.
This week he asserted his place in the
offense. Wayne and Harrison had a combined 6 catches for 55 yards and a
touchdown while Stokely had 5 receptions for 132 yards and 2 touchdowns.
A good portion of his yardage came on a phenomenal 69 yard reception in
which he knifed through the opposing defense. With an outing like that
he has definitely earned the moniker “Freak of the Week.”

Smokin' Joe -
Muhsin Muhammed
The Panthers were trailing the 49ers 17
- 3 at halftime. It was time for them to go to their oldest and
most reliable receiver. Muhsin had 3 touchdowns in the second half and
game totals of 6 catches for 123 yards.
Muhsin started out a little slow this
year like the rest of the Panthers but he has put up very impressive
numbers over the last three weeks. Over that span he has had 22
catches, 323 yards and 5 touchdowns. It has been awhile since he has had
a stretch like that and been a Freak of the Week.

The Sandman -
Chicago Bears Defense
There is an old saying in football, you
win championships with defense. This week the Bears proved that
you can win a game by gaining only 176 yards on offense while allowing
your opponent to gain 390 yards. Statistically that is almost impossible
but the Bears managed to pull it off this week.
Their first seven points were scored on a 47-yard interception return
for a touchdown by Michael Haynes. OK, that happens to every team but in
the third quarter R.W. McQuarters returned a punt 75 yards for another
touchdown. The offense did manage to move the ball close enough for a
29-yard field goal by Paul Edinger which sent the game into overtime.
In overtime, for only the second time in NFL history, the game ended on
a safety when Adewale Ogunleye tacked Fred Miller in the end zone after
Billy Volek had fumbled.
From a fantasy perspective, this is a monster game. I know that in the
freaks scoring system the Bears scored 26 points. There were only 6
quarterbacks, 2 running backs and 1 wide receiver that scored more
points this past week.
