StingRay - Rudi
Johnson
I have not been a Rudi supporter but I
did tell many of you Freaks that he was a good play against the
Cleveland Browns on Sunday. I knew he would do well, but I did not
expect him to rush for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns! Rudi carried the ball
26 times and averaged 7.8 yards per carry.
Johnson has scored 5 touchdowns in his
last six games and he now has 7 on the season, which isn’t bad.
However, I’m still not a huge fan of Rudi because I don’t like his
schedule. I would consider moving him now since he’s coming off of a
season high. The next three weeks the Bengals are at Baltimore, at New
England, and home vs. Buffalo. The Buffalo defense just held Shaun
Alexander to 39 yards so don’t expect a repeat performance from Rudi in
the next few games.

CrunchTime -
Willis McGahee
McGahee has had a great impact on the
Bills since he’s taken a prominent role in their lineup. However, this
past week his performance was the definition of a breakout game.
Up to this point he’s had a solid
season, 5 of his last 7 games have provided 100+ yards but he’s only
posted 3 touchdowns. This week he trounced that number by charging into
the end zone with authority four times.
This week McGahee gained Freak of the
Week status and announced his presence in the NFL.

Smokin' Joe -
Kelly Holcombe
Holcomb received his first start of the
season on Sunday and he responded by posting some out of this world
numbers. His quarterback rating was 128.5, his completion percentage was
76.9%, he had 413 yards passing and the most important quarterback
statistic of all, five touchdown passes.
Kelly was disappointing as the starter
last year but on Sunday he was king for a day and my Freak of the Week.

The Sandman -
Julius Jones
In a week where there were some great
fantasy performance by quarterbacks, Manning, Palmer and Holcomb to name
a few, I nominate Julius Jones as my Freak of the Week. I have to
admit that I own him in more than one league, so his 150 yard, 2
touchdown performance had a little more meaning for me.
The main reason I am nominating him is because he was able to carry the
ball over 60 times in 5 days. It is hard to imagine this being done by
any running back but when you consider that Jones did this after
breaking his shoulder and missing two months of action it is, well,
freakish.
