Freak
of the Week - Week 13

StingRay -
Washington Redskins Offense
The Washington offense has been unable
to score more then 18 points in a single game this season until Sunday
when they put up 31 points against the New York Giants.
Clinton Portis rushed for 148 yards and
scored two touchdowns. In the three prior games combined Portis posted
135 yards and no scores. Patrick Ramsey completed 19 out 22 passes for
174 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no picks. The line was so good that they
only gave up one sack and no turnovers.
Maybe Portis and the Washington can
offense can redeem itself during the fantasy playoffs.

CrunchTime - Aaron
Brooks
Brooks has been a bit of a
disappointment this season but has had a couple bright spots. While it’s
no consolation to Saints fans, Brooks posted a great fantasy outing with
20 completions for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns. The result wasn’t a win
for New Orleans, but it probably was a win for many fantasy owners who
had the foresight to start him.

Smokin' Joe - Kevin
Jones
Kevin Jones had his best day as a pro
in week thirteen. It is also the first game of the year when he had more
than 20 carries. He totaled 26 carries for 196 yards. Which is over 7.5
yards per carry.
Jones is finally healthy and rewarding
owners with some outstanding performances including 99 and 100 yards
rushing in the two games prior to this weekend. He is heating up at just
the right time and should be in your lineup the rest of the year because
Green bay and Minnesota are next up for the Lions.

The Sandman -
Carson Palmer
It’s pretty hard to believe that Palmer
wasn’t nominated last week for his 4 touchdown performance but there
were a lot of outstanding performances last week. Well, this week he
will get his props from the Sandman.
Palmer followed up his 251 yards, 4 touchdown performance against the
Browns last week with a more impressive 383 yard, 3 touchdown
performance. What really impressed me was the fact that he did it
against the Ravens, in Baltimore, when the Ravens knew he would be
passing the ball. It doesn’t get much harder than that.
In addition, Palmer also broke a 40+ game record in which the Bengals
had not beaten a team with a record over .500 on the road. For all of
those accomplishments, I nominate Carson Palmer as my Freak of the Week.
