Freak
of the Week - Week 2

StingRay - DeShaun
Foster
The worst thing that happened to the
Chiefs defense was the late breaking news that Stephen Davis was not
going to play. I have been killing Stephen Davis all preseason because I
thought that he was a bust and I truly believed that DeShaun Foster was
the better of the two backs.
The Chiefs are a bad-tackling team so
an elusive back like Foster was their worst nightmare. Like Quentin
Griffin the week before, Foster slashed and dashed his way through the
Chiefs defense to the tune of 174 yards and a touchdown.
Foster can keep Davis on the sideline
if he keeps on having performances like he did on Sunday.

CrunchTime - Hines
Ward
Hines Ward is always dependable. He
shows up and runs every route, blocks off the line and downfield, and
puts up about 100 yards every game. What’s even better is that every
once in awhile he has a game like he did this week.
With 151 yards and 1 touchdown Ward put up solid numbers in spite of an
injury to his starting quarterback and an opposing defense that’s
arguably the toughest in the league.
Take away his 58 yard reception and he
had another Ward-like performance of 5 receptions for 93 yards and 1 TD.
With it, he becomes my Freak of the Week.

Smokin' Joe -
Curtis Martin
Normally we try to spread around our
Freak of the Week nominations but an exception has to be made for Curtis
Martin. CrunchTime nominated him last week and I have to do it this week
as well.
Martin followed up his outstanding week
one performance with a league-leading fantasy performance for running
backs in week two. Curtis had over 140 yards combined and two
touchdowns. This brings his season totals to 343 yards combined and 4
touchdowns in just two games.
I don't know how long Martin's run is
going to continue but he is my Freak of the Week.

The Sandman -
Aaron Brooks
Going into this fantasy season a lot of
owners were down on Brooks. In many drafts he lasted into the middle
rounds as Marc Bulger, Steve McNair and Matt Hasselbeck all went before
him.
This week he rewarded his faithful
owners with an outstanding performance, 279 yards and 3 touchdowns. More
importantly, he didn’t throw a pick. The interception has always been a
problem as he often tries to force the ball into double and triple
coverage. What impressed me the most was that he did this without Deuce
McAllister (high ankle sprain).
Brooks is finally showing the poise
needed to play quarterback in the NFL and he is starting to fulfill
everyone’s expectations, including mine. I expect Brooks to finish the
season as a top-five quarterback so if you're hurting at quarterback, go
get him before the owner realizes what a steal he got.
