Freak of the Week - Week 11

The NFLFreaks Salute the True NFL Freaks

StingRay - Steve Smith

After breaking his leg last season Steve Smith has returned with a vengeance in 2005. Smith is the Carolina Panther offense, everyone knows it, but it appears that no one can stop him.

In the Panthers 13-3 loss to Chicago, Steve Smith caught 14 passes for 169 yards. Smith is having a phenomenal season and he’s the number one receiver in fantasy football. Steve leads the league in receptions (72), yards (1106), and touchdowns (9).

Steve Smith, you are my Freak of the Season!

Smokin Joe - Peyton Manning

Rarely do big games live up to the hype but Manning and Carson Palmer went throw-for-throw in one of the best games of the year.

Manning and the Colts have been content to run the ball more then ever this year and Peyton's number were below expectations the first half of the season. In recent weeks he is finding his stride and returning to his 2004 form.

Peyton has posted over 30 points in each of the last three games and is now the 2nd rated fantasy quarterback.

The Sandman - Kurt Warner

It is very poetic when a player returns to his old home and sticks it to his former team. That is what happened this week as Kurt Warner led the Cardinals to a victory over his former team.

Warner was a MVP in St. Louis but injuries and bad play led to his release before the start of the 2004 season. This week Warner rgot a little revenge as he put up 285 yards and 3 touchdowns. How good was this performance for Warner? He had only 3 touchdown passes going into this week. What is more impressive is that Warner was only 15 yards short of throwing for 300 yards in three straight games.
