Freak of the Week - Week 5

The NFLFreaks Salute the True NFL Freaks

StingRay - Drew Bledsoe

My Freak of the week award goes to Drew Bledsoe who led the Cowboys to a 33-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bledsoe went 24-35 for 289 yards, threw three touchdowns, and had 0 interceptions.

I talked to a lot of Cowboys fans when Bledsoe first arrived in Dallas and I didn’t know one that was remotely happy about Bledsoe being the Cowboys' new quarterback.

After the first five weeks of the season Bledsoe is tied with Marc Bulger for 4th in the NFL for touchdown passes thrown with 10 and he only has 3 interceptions.

Bledsoe also gets my award for keeping the team focused and letting Keyshawn hear about the touchdown he allowed the Eagles to score off his fumble.

Remember, the Cowboys thought they beat the Washington Redskins a couple of weeks ago and look what happened.

Hey Keyshawn, “Just hold on to the dam ball!”

Smokin Joe - Tom Brady

Brady posted terrific stats against a strong Falcon defense, completing 22 of 27 pass attempts for 350 yards and 3 TD's.

He completed passes to 9 different receivers, including 8 for 107 yards to Deion Branch and 5 for 166 yards and a touchdown to TE Daniel Graham.

Tom Brady lead all quarterbacks in fantasy scoring in week five and is now the 6th ranked quarterback on the year.

CrunchTime - Terry Glenn

To begin the week Irvin spent his time calling out the Dallas receivers saying they didn't have a number one receiver.

Keyshaun spent his time refuting that and explaining that he'll have better numbers than Irvin when it's all said and done.

Glenn spent his time acting like a number one and throwing up some insane fantasy numbers.

With the highly touted Philly defense lined up across from him, Glenn went to work hauling in 7 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

The scary part is that he already has more yardage than he did last year.

If anyone has any questions about who is the number one, they should reference the statistics. Glenn has the same number of touchdowns, 4 more catches, and a whopping 290 more yards.

Sandman - Tatum Bell

Finally this week Bell showed why most owners drafted him ahead of Mike Anderson, even though Anderson was listed as the No.1 back on the depth chart.

Bell has 12 carries for 127 yards and two long (33 and 55) touchdowns.

Bell hit the holes and looked like the back everyone expects him to be.

His owners shouldn’t get too excited since Mike Anderson is still the starter.
