Freak of the Week - Week 7

The NFLFreaks Salute the True NFL Freaks

StingRay - Chester Taylor

Chester Taylor was supposed to have a difficult match-up facing off against the Seattle Seahawks defense but he put big smiles on the faces of his owners when he ran the longest touchdown in Minnesota history.  Taylor broke off a 95-yard touchdown run in the 3rd quarter to blow the game wide open for the Minnesota Vikings.

Chester finished the game with 169 yards rushing and a touchdown on Sunday. Taylor has been a solid back this season amassing over 100 yards in 4 of the 6 games the Vikings have played.

CrunchTime - Hines Ward

Apparently we are in a season of huge wide receiver production. Not to be outdone by the performances of Holt and Owens last week, Ward turned in his own game breaking performance this week piling up 8 receptions for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Considering he only had 207 receiving yards and 2 scores on the season, this single outing represented a 108% increase in his fantasy production.

The Sandman - Michael Vick

For years I have told everyone that they will never win a fantasy championship with Michael Vick as their quarterback. The reason I feel this way is that the Falcons don't throw the ball enough and Vick is an athlete playing quarterback.  He has no touch; every pass comes out on fire.

This week Vick had a career game as he threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns. Add in the 40 yards rushing and he had a huge game. What really impressed me is that he did it against the Pittsburgh Steelers. I still don't think that Vick is worth starting every week but a couple more games like this and I will have to change my mind.
