Hall of Shame - Week 5

Everybody Knows Your Name

I don't care who you are; Player, Coach, Broadcaster, Writer, you name it.  You sucked, and we're going to tell you why.

Another staff favorite, our Hall of Shame picks highlight our individual selections for the worst sports-related performers of the week.

StingRay - Michael Clayton

Michael Clayton has been a huge disappointment this season.

In 2004 his rookie year, Clayton was the 13th ranked fantasy receiver and bigger and better things were expected in his second season.

On Sunday against the Jets, Clayton did not catch a single pass.

The week before, Clayton had two receptions for 11 yards. This is not the same guy that looked unstoppable last year.

So far this season Clayton has totaled 17 receptions for 196 yards and zero touchdowns. Until Clayton starts producing, keep him on your bench.

Smokin Joe - Andre Johnson

Lets take a look at Johnson's stats from week five. 0 catches for 0 yards with 0 touchdowns.

Johnson was ranked in the top ten for receivers this preseason and all he has done since the season started is ZERO.

Let's look at his season stats. He has 10 catches for 76 yards and 0 touchdowns.

Johnson looked so promising but the only good thing I can say at this point is that he pulled a calf muscle in the game yesterday.

I hope for his owners sake he is out for an extended period of time so he can be benched and forgotten.

CrunchTime - Aaron Brooks

At the start of the day Sunday it appeared Brooks was poised to do some great things.

He may not have had his number one target, but it wasn't going to matter because they were facing the Packers, the 0-4, turnover happy, no-offensive line, shoddy pass defense Packers.

With all of that in place, the only thing Brooks burned on Sunday was the fantasy owner who was unfortunate enough to start him.

Brooks took it upon himself to define a new level of underperforming, even for the Saints who have underachieving down to an art form.

His 9 completions came on 22 attempts with two picks.

A performance dismal enough to earn Todd Bouman some playing time in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

The Sandman - Donovan McNabb

For years I've had heated discussions with people about McNabb and his fantasy value.

This week he proved why owning him is risky.

There is no doubt that he has been awesome leading up to this week but in week 5 he was terrible with 13-of-26 for 131 yards and no touchdowns.

McNabb does this two or three times a year which is what keeps me from ranking him No.1 overall.

He will have a number of great weeks but then he will have a lousy one.

Personally, I would rather own Mark Brunell, who has thrown at least two touchdowns each week.
