Hall of Shame - Week 13

Everybody Knows Your Name

I don't care who you are; Player, Coach, Broadcaster, Writer, you name it.  You sucked, and we're going to tell you why.

Another staff favorite, our Hall of Shame picks highlight our individual selections for the worst sports-related performers of the week.

StingRay - Antonio Gates

Antonio Gates is the number one tight end in fantasy but this week he was a big dud for those who may have needed a big performance out of him to get into the playoffs. Gates had 1 reception for minus 1-yards in the Chargers victory Sunday.

I'm pretty sure he will rebound with a big game next week but this week in the words of Stephen A Smith,

"Antonio Gates was horrible!"

CrunchTime - Joseph Addai

To some of you this may seem harsh. It really isn't though. We're at the point of the season where the prospect of making the fantasy playoffs heightens the importance of each player's production. That's even truer for your studs. With that in mind it was painful to see Addai come out with such a pedestrian performance in week 13. His 67 yards rushing represented only the second time this season he hasn't reached double digit production, and was his lowest output of the year.

It makes it even more painful when you see the list of running backs that out produced him this week - I was going to list them until I realized that there were 36 running backs with better output this week. That's some serious perspective and worth a Hall of Shame trip when you're expecting top 5 to 10 performance.

The Sandman - Sean Payton

Bonehead, Bonehead, Bonehead….. Those are the only words I can think of that describe what Payton did on Sunday. With his team up three points with three minutes left in the game he called a reverse.  The play started with Reggie Bush taking the handoff and running left.  At the same time Devery Henderson was running right and Bush tried to pitch the ball to him. Not hand the ball to him, pitch it. Henderson fumbled; the Bucs recovered and won the game with 15 seconds left.

At no point should the ball be in the air when you’re ahead and trying to run the clock out Payton.
