Hall of Shame - Week 7

Everybody Knows Your Name

I don't care who you are; Player, Coach, Broadcaster, Writer, you name it.  You sucked, and we're going to tell you why.

Another staff favorite, our Hall of Shame picks highlight our individual selections for the worst sports-related performers of the week.

StingRay - Shaun Alexander

I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but after another week of what I just saw I have come to the conclusion that Shaun Alexander is terrible!

This past weekend the Seattle Seahawks faced the winless St. Louis Rams and won 33-6.  What does Shaun contribute to the victory?  He carried the ball 19 times for 47 yards and no touchdowns.

In his last 3 games he has rushed for a total of 107 yards and no scores.  I will excuse the poor performance against Pittsburgh but to perform at that level in the last two games against New Orleans & St. Louis is inexcusable.  Trade Shaun now if you can because he’s done.

CrunchTime - Jeff Wilkins

Through 7 games Wilkins has added to the woes of the Rams as well as that of many fantasy owners.  While some of his production issues have stemmed from the Rams’ overall difficulties, he’s been a huge disappointment across the board. After years of finishing among the top tier kickers he’s now missing kicks at an alarming pace.  With his miss this week he was once again a poor start and has now missed field goals in 5 of 7 games and 6 total on the season.

He’s only been worth a start twice and some changes are in order. First, he can no longer carry the nickname “Money.”  Second, he should no longer be discussed as a top tier kicker.  And third he is my nominee for Hall of Shame.

The Sandman - The New England Patriots

To be quite frank, I’m sick and tired of the Patriots coaching staff thinking they are better than the game.  First they get caught cheating, and cheating is exactly what they were doing, and now they don’t publish the correct injury status on their players. This has been going on for years but someone needs to explain to me how someone is probable on Tuesday and out on Sunday.

This was the case with Ben Watson this past week. Initially he was reported as probable but by Sunday he was out.  He didn’t practice all week so it’s pretty amazing that his condition got worse.

For Sammy Morris they aren’t even reporting what the injury is. Everything is always secretive in New England and I hope they win every game so that we can put an asterisk on their Vince Lombardi trophy and send it to the Hall-of-Fame.
