Hall of
Shame - Week 8
Everybody Knows Your Name
|
I don't care who you are; Player, Coach,
Broadcaster, Writer, you name it. You sucked, and we're going to tell you
why.
Another staff
favorite, our Hall of Shame picks highlight our individual selections for the
worst sports-related performers of the week.

StingRay -
Brian Griese & Cedric Benson
Brian Griese was facing a Lions passing
defense that has been getting torched all season long. How does he
respond? He goes 22 of 40 for 208 yards and throws 4
interceptions. Three of those interceptions were picked off in the end
zone.
That horrible performance along with their
lack of a running game is why the Bears were swept by the Lions this
season.
Cedric Benson is horrible. I knew that
coming into the season (that’s why he is not on any of my 4 teams) but
he is worse than even I thought. On Sunday at home against the
Lions he had 60 total yards and no scores.

CrunchTime -
Steve Smith
I feel like everyone’s spending more time
making excuses for Smith’s production than the Panthers are throwing him
the ball. Whether there are quarterback troubles or not, the fact
of the matter is that he was only able to get 18 yards this week, which
is a crushing contribution from someone who was expected to be a #1
caliber receiver.
It’s bad enough when your stud doesn’t
break 100, or fails to get into the end zone, but for him to barely make
the top-60 among wide receivers this week is absurdly bad.
Notable options that out-produced him this
week include: Justin Gage, Bryan Gilmore, and Derek Hagan.
Welcome to the Hall of Shame Steve.

The Sandman -
Jon Kitna
Kitna was a hot commodity on draft day as
he had a solid year in 2006 and he had a new weapon in Calvin Johnson.
It also helped that Mike Martz is his offensive coordinator and for the
first month of the season everyone was happy.
The problem has been the last three games.
In those three games he has thrown for over 200 yards once (last week)
and he has thrown no touchdown passes over that span.
It’s hard for any fantasy team to win a
game when their quarterback isn't putting up at least 20 points per week.
